Welcome To Pre-Prep (age 3-7)

Welcome From the Head of the Junior School

I hope you find this website an informative and welcoming first glance at our school.

At St Lawrence College, we set high expectations, inspiring every child to persevere and succeed across academics, sport, and the arts. Our approach nurtures confidence and independence, laying strong foundations for the next stage of their education and beyond. Learning extends far beyond the classroom, with enriching experiences such as Forest School, a diverse range of sports, and an array of exciting co-curricular activities designed to spark curiosity and develop essential life skills. With dedicated staff and exceptional facilities, we provide a supportive yet challenging environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.
I do hope that you will come and visit us at St Lawrence College Junior School.

Explore Lawrence College Pre-Prep:

Academic Life

The Reception Class is an engaging and stimulating environment, where lots of opportunities for purposeful play combined with a mix of planned practical and more formal teaching. In Years 1 and 2, teaching and learning become more formal as children develop confidence in their skills and knowledge and become increasingly independent learners.

Forest School and Swimming

Our Pre-Prep children enjoy our wonderful Forest School adventures curriculum and have the opportunity to attend weekly swimming lessons in our indoor heated pool.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is our highest priority. Our teachers are fully involved in life in and out of the classroom and this enables them to know and support all our pupils.

Sport and Drama

We recognise the importance of being active and living a healthy balanced life. We have produced a carefully tailored P.E. curriculum that allows our children to engage in a rich and varied experience and also offer in house LAMDA where speech and drama skills are developed, leading to examinations and performance opportunities at local festivals.

“Pre-Prep children fully engage in the learning because teachers make lessons fun and relevant.”
