St Lawrence College
St Lawrence College, founded in 1879, offers a first-class education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. Our private school is set on a safe and spacious campus, located on the Kent coast just a short walk from the sea. We welcome both boarding and day pupils, providing an exceptional environment for families from local areas, across the UK, and around the world.
Approximately 625 pupils attend St Lawrence College, with 150 in the Pre-Prep and Prep School and 450 in the Senior School. Among these, 185 are boarders, starting from age 7.
We ensure pupils attain their personal best academically, whilst preparing them for life in a rapidly changing global society. Modern facilities combined with traditional values based on our Christian roots draw out the talents of each pupil.
Strong pastoral care, high-quality teaching, and a great emphasis on extra-curricular activity make this a special community to live and learn.

Our Christian Ethos
Founded in 1879 under the Evangelical tradition of the Church of England, St Lawrence College upholds a strong Christian ethos. This commitment shines through in the way the school nurtures every individual, guided by the belief that we are all equal in God’s eyes.
There are many opportunities for pupils to explore their faith informally, or in formal settings such as Chapels, Christian Unions and Confirmation classes, if they wish to do so, and we welcome pupils of all faiths and none.
At St Lawrence College, we embrace our responsibility as a school to understand differences, celebrate diversity, and love our neighbour as ourselves. Our School’s Social Vision statement summarises this commitment: ‘a caring community of kindness, positivity, and respect.’ We actively promote positive relationships and work to build a fair, inclusive community where everyone can flourish.
