From Nepalese dancing to a Cantonese solo and a fashion show featuring traditional attire, the event was a true reflection of the diverse and vibrant community we are so proud of.

Our Director of Sport, Seth Simmons, has returned from an inspiring five-day trip to Trinidad & Tobago, where he connected with top sporting figures, attended a major recruitment fair, and explored opportunities for talented young athletes.
From cricket legends to Olympic medallists and national rugby coaches, the visit laid the foundation for exciting partnerships that will help nurture future sporting stars at St Lawrence College.

Today is Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent—a season of prayer, fasting, and charitable giving in preparation for Easter. Rooted in the 40 days that Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness, Lent encourages Christians to practise self-discipline, seek spiritual renewal, and extend generosity to those in need.
During this time, many in our school community are also observing Ramadan, a sacred month of fasting, prayer, and acts of kindness leading up to Eid. A time of deep spiritual reflection and devotion, Ramadan commemorates the revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad and encourages self-restraint and generosity.
Though distinct in practice, both seasons call for reflection, discipline, and compassion—values that unite us across faiths and beliefs. As a school built on a strong Christian ethos, we are committed to fostering an environment where all students, of all faiths and none, feel supported in their spiritual journeys.

Last week`s Trumpet Overture Scheme session, led by Brass teacher Geoff Mason, was a blast! The Overture Scheme — launched this term — offers group introductory lessons on musical instruments, with more sessions coming soon.
Music at St Lawrence inspires a love of music across genres, with opportunities for all pupils to perform in concerts and events year-round. From Orchestra to Rock Band, Jazz Band to Choirs, and exciting events like House Singing and Battle of the Bands, there’s something for everyone. Many students also take instrumental and singing lessons with expert visiting teachers, achieving fantastic exam results.
