On Friday 5th July, the Leavers’ Ball at St Lawrence College was a night to remember. The evening began with sparkling wine on arrival, as students and their families gathered on the steps of the College for photographs. Guests were then escorted to Taylor Hall, where they found their seats. A magician roamed the tables, mesmerising guests with his tricks, while one table of boys eagerly tried to decipher his secrets.

Head of College, Barney Durrant, delivered a touching speech, congratulating the students on their achievements and expressing gratitude to the parents and staff for their unwavering support. Following the speech, guests enjoyed a three-course meal, which set the stage for a night of celebration. The festivities continued with live music from the Blue Lion Band, prompting everyone to hit the dance floor. The addition of a casino and a photo booth provided further entertainment, allowing guests to create lasting memories of the evening.

The Leavers’ Ball was a fitting tribute to the hard work and accomplishments of our Upper Sixth Form students, the class of 2024. We now look forward to their A Level results in the summer, wish them well in their next steps, and warmly welcome them to our Old Lawrentian alumni community.
