At St Lawrence College, we honour not just academic achievement but the values that shape our students. On September 20th, we proudly remembered the legacy of two Old Lawrentians, Flight Officers James Tillett (1937) and John Allen (1933), in a moving ceremony that brought together Royal Air Force cadets, our Combined Cadet Force (CCF), and the Royal British Legion. Led by Lady Colgrain, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, the day reminded us all of the courage and dedication that continue to inspire our students.
The CCF at St Lawrence instills leadership, discipline, and responsibility—traits essential for life both inside and outside the classroom. As we reflect on our history, we look to our students to embody these principles in everything they do.

🌟 Sixth Form pupils participated in our annual Leadership Day. Through a series of engaging activities, our pupils honed their communication, collaboration and, problem-solving skills - things that will positively serve them well beyond their time at St Lawrence.
🗣 It was a great event and lovely to see all involved displaying the enthusiasm and dedication that are hallmarks of our Sixth Form community.
Our First, Second, and Third Form students took part in our High Performance Learning (HPL) skills mornings, putting their creativity and teamwork to the test.
🌲 First Form ventured outdoors for exciting activities like fire-making, shelter building, and catapult crafting—designed to boost collaboration, resilience, and ignite their imaginations.
🏡 Second Form got a taste of the future by designing products for "A House of the Future," imagining life in 2124 and solving the problems of tomorrow.
🍽️ Third Form took a more local approach, brainstorming ideas for a food business aimed at Ramsgate’s young people, honing their analysis and market enquiry skills.
This provided a unique opportunity for pupils to step outside their comfort zones and engage in hands-on, experiential learning. With a strong focus on practising key HPL skills, these events have provided a first foundation for pupils to develop as independent learners as the academic year progresses.
