St Lawrence College recently welcomed students and staff from Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University, Bangkok, marking a memorable milestone in its commitment to fostering international cultural exchange and enriching educational collaboration. This visit strengthened the connection between the two schools and brought fresh perspectives and opportunities for mutual learning.
During the visit, 21 students from Satit Bilingual School were paired with St Lawrence students in a “buddy” system, designed to encourage social and academic exchange. Through this buddy program, students from both schools had the chance to engage in shared learning experiences, build friendships, and explore each other’s cultures. The Satit students participated in classes alongside their St Lawrence peers, where they explored the UK-based curriculum and shared insights from their own academic experiences. This exchange was an invaluable experience for both groups, broadening their perspectives and fostering a sense of global connection.
In addition to classroom time, the students joined together for various activities outside of school hours, giving them the opportunity to bond over cultural traditions, fun activities, and shared experiences. The exchange was a remarkable learning journey for all involved, reinforcing the values of respect, empathy, and cooperation across borders.
Jo Ganderton-Smith, Director of External Relations at St Lawrence College, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting the positive impact it has had on the school community. “Our partnership with Satit Bilingual School goes beyond academics, it’s about building friendships, fostering mutual understanding, and helping our students appreciate the diversity of our global community”.
The partnership is part of St Lawrence College’s ongoing mission to nurture globally aware and culturally appreciative students. With the success of this visit, St Lawrence anticipates further opportunities for cultural exchange, enhancing the educational experiences of students and strengthening international ties for years to come.
