Ramsgate Week is one of the most anticipated events on the sailing calendar, and is celebrated for its thrilling races and vibrant coastal culture. For 125 years, this annual regatta has attracted sailors and spectators from across the UK, making it a key event for both competitive sailors and enthusiasts alike. Held in the beautiful Royal Habour of Ramsgate, the week offers a unique blend of competitive racing and community celebration, making it a highlight of the summer season.
St Lawrence College was proud to once again be a sponsor of Ramsgate Week, reflecting our commitment to supporting our local community and promoting values such as leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship. The College attended the awards ceremony at the Royal Temple Yacht Club and Claire Tyler, External Relations Officer, presented numerous awards to the race competitors that week. As part of our sponsorship, St Lawrence College had the honour of presenting the Lawrentian Cup, awarded to the Cruiser Boat of the Week. This award is testament to the exceptional skill and perseverance demonstrated by the winning crew throughout the week’s challenging races; the Cup was presented to the Scallywag team. Natalie Dimmock, Head of Marketing and Development, then joined Claire as guests of honour in representing St Lawrence College at the Sunset Ceremony. This was a fitting end to Ramsgate Week, performed by the local sea cadets from T.S.Bulldog with the Bugler sounding the Last Post.
Ramsgate Week is more than just a sporting event; it’s a celebration of Ramsgate’s vibrant coastal culture, its rich heritage and its strong community spirit. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Ramsgate Week in the years to come, fostering the same spirit of competition, community, and celebration that has defined the regatta for over a century.
