St Lawrence College U13 girls progress to the County Cricket Finals

Posted: 24th January 2022

Kent Cricket announced the return of their girls’ secondary school indoor cricket competition under a new name for 2022 – ‘Indoor Eights’, previously named ‘The Lady Taverners’. This newly branded competition offers 8-a-side indoor cricket to secondary school girls in the under 13 and under 15 age groups (years 7-10).

Over 1,800 teams take part in this competition on average nationally.

Yesterday our girls took part in the competition hosted by Sevenoaks School and played exceptionally well in their final game, taking home the win off the final ball.

This is an amazing achievement for the girls as they are now through to the County final of this national competition, which will take place on Wednesday 9th March.

To top off a great day, the girls had the opportunity to hold the actual men’s World Cup trophy, which was surprisingly heavier than they imagined!

As they reflect on a fantastic day, the team have begun working hard training for the County final competition.
